Think Bold

This year, IWPR's research provided solutions for policymakers, leaders, and advocates at local, state, and federal levels to support the needs of women and families in this critical moment. Our rapid response reports and policy recommendations called for bold strategies that would provide a pathway to economic recovery for women and working families.

This #GivingTuesday, stand with us and help us produce the bold policy solutions and timely information that can be used to get working women, student parents, single mothers, women of color, and others safely back to work and school.

Here are highlights of our work championing gender equity during the COVID-19 pandemic and recession.

Building A Gender-Equitable Economic Recovery

Our recent recovery report examined the impact of the economic crisis on working women and provided both a blueprint for a recovery that would meet women's immediate economic needs and also a long-term strategy for creating stronger systems and institutions that reflect women's diverse experiences.

Sounding the Alarm on Food Insufficiency

Our paper explored the impact of the decline of household income during the pandemic on food sufficiency of families by race, gender, and ethnicity.

Prioritizing Student Parents in COVID-19 Response and Relief

Our briefing paper outlined how state and federal policymakers can center the needs of student parents in policy responses to the pandemic, so that they are able to safeguard their families’ economic well-being and continue along their pathway to college attainment.
