Dear John, Will you help our members be ready for any challenges they face next year by donating directly to those in your community today?
This year we redistributed over $350,000 from our Rapid Response Fund. That money went directly to our members responding to earthquakes in Puerto Rico, record-breaking hurricanes in the Gulf South, COVID-19, and post-election turmoil. Through their important leadership, they've shown us all how to
navigate these challenges with a Just Recovery approach that centers on swift and nimble responses to community-identified needs through mutual support networks. On top of that, we’re using this Fund to make sure we build things better than before–working with our members to move Just Transition plans, clean energy infrastructure, and supporting them with direct action solutions they can feel, see, and lead today. Now we’re looking forward to a new year; getting ready to support frontline community solutions and double down on our fight against neoliberal schemes to ‘solve’ the climate crisis, while defending our communities against the ground gained by White Supremacy over the last four years, and
facing what is certain to be more record-breaking climate catastrophes. Help the frontlines be ready for whatever comes next by donating directly to our members near you today!
In Solidarity, Angela Mahecha Adrar P.S. I want to acknowledge what a lot of you have likely heard by now: I am transitioning out of my role as Executive Director and seeding the ground for a
new visionary triad-director leadership model that lives our values and meets the moment. You’ll be hearing more about this in the coming months, but I wanted to say that throughout this shift I continue to be reminded why this alliance and it’s important work deserves all of our unwavering support. Please consider donating to our members near you, and if there aren’t any you can still support the Alliance’s Rapid Response Fund, as I will continue to do even after this transition. |
