John —
I hope you and your loved ones were able to enjoy a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving last week, even if you had to do so with distant family members over Zoom. Now that we’ve entered the holiday season, it’s become increasingly clear how very different this year’s festivities must be in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. It’s also more evident every day how more and more people are struggling due to this public health and economic crisis.
At this point, more than 13 million Americans have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and nearly 270,000 have died from it. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost a family member, friend, or loved one to this devastating virus, and are about to experience the holidays without them.
With this surge in cases only worsening day by day, new restrictions have been put in place across the country to save lives. Businesses that were already struggling are facing new challenges, and millions are finding it even harder to make ends meet, with record numbers of Americans reporting uncertainty about whether they can put food on the table.
It’s unconscionable that Congress hasn’t passed another relief package to get help to millions of Americans who are still unemployed and struggling, and I will keep doing everything I can to break that impasse. But in the meantime, food banks need our support now more than ever.
That’s why I wanted to reach out on this Giving Tuesday to ask if you’ll join me in lending a helping hand to those in need by making a contribution to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Project Angel Food. [[link removed]]
LA Regional Food Bank provides meals for those struggling with hunger in our community every day, but especially now as the COVID-19 pandemic is causing unprecedented levels of demand for food assistance across Los Angeles County.
Project Angel Food prepares and delivers healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illness and compromised immune systems — exactly the sort of people at greatest risk from COVID-19.
Please, if you can, make a split donation to LA Regional Food Bank and Project Angel Food today to help those struggling during this difficult time:

In the spring, we came together and raised more than $150,000 for these two great organizations. Let’s break our record and raise even more so they can help even more people in need this winter.
Thanks,
Adam
