Hello,
Joe Biden is urging Republicans in the Senate to begin confirmation hearings for his Cabinet selections so that they can properly assume their roles come Inauguration Day.
History is on his side. As POLITICO reports, "Cabinet selections for incoming presidents have historically been granted hearings in their relevant Senate committees ahead of Inauguration Day" -- including two of Trump's nominations. But we already know Republicans have no problem breaking democratic precedents when it suits them.
Most Senate Republicans have refused to openly acknowledge Biden's victory for fear of contradicting Trump's continued voter fraud claims -- so we know that Biden's words are likely falling on deaf ears.
We want to make it clear that we're paying attention, and that Biden's appointments deserve the same prompt hearings Republicans have granted for others. Today, we need to know if you'll stand with us. Please, tell us what you think:
Should the Senate begin Cabinet confirmation hearings?
