I could not be more proud of what our movement achieved this year. Not only did we elect the strongest presidential gun safety ticket in history with President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, but this year we passed life-saving gun laws across the country, including in the NRA's backyard in Virginia, elected Gun Sense Candidates up and down the ballot, and kicked the gun lobby out of the White House.

But John, as we head into the new year, there's so much more work left to be done. I am writing to ask that you help make 2021 the year we turn Gun Sense Victories at the ballot box into actions to end gun violence. Every day, more than 100 Americans are killed with guns. Every gun death leaves in its wake devastating grief and loss. I founded Moms Demand Action to help channel that grief and anger into lasting change.

Enormous challenges remain for our movement in 2021. Gun sales have overwhelmed our background check system and gun violence has increased this year. And while the gun lobby suffered a historic loss in the White House, they are still very much a force in Congress and in state legislatures.

John, we have our work cut out for us next year. But with your support, I am confident that we can create lasting change in 2021. Together, you and I can create a future where children no longer have to go through active shooter drills at schools. We can fight for a future where guns are no longer the leading cause of death for America's children and teens, and where we can all shop and play and worship and go about our business free from the fear of gun violence.
