John,
2020 has taught us that we need transformative change now more than ever. And not only that — we need strong movements to nurture it, policy makers to implement it, and new generations to build on it.
Thanks to your support, our bold, transformative ideas have all three.
We’ve leveraged our strong connections with social movements to pressure Congress, win fights at the state and local levels, and raise a new generation of leaders. And we’re already working to put progressive ideas at the center of the next administration.

Poor People’s Campaign
IPS has served as the research arm of the Poor People’s Campaign for three years running.
We’ve produced fact sheets on poverty and budget priorities in every state, connected movement leaders to Congress, and helped the campaign develop a transformational agenda for its work this year. And by working directly with poor and low-income people to tell their stories through op-eds, we helped transform the national narrative on poverty during the pandemic.

Congressional Progressive Caucus Center
On Capitol Hill, IPS helped create the Policy and Research Council of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. For the first time, we’ve brought together all the major progressive policy and research organizations to advance progressive policy proposals
As the co-chair of the center, IPS has helped anchor its work on foreign policy, economic justice, poverty, and the Post Office. And as we exit 2020, IPS is laying out bold initiatives for the new administration as an anchor of the center’s Progressive Governance Project, too.

Next Leaders
The pandemic didn’t stop IPS from welcoming a new cohort of Next Leaders from around the globe.
Our virtual fellows produced 16 pieces of writing, including major reports and toolkits for activists, and organized four events in just two months. They also inspired the IPS staff, leading us through workshops on reimagining our justice system and more deeply centering on impacted communities in all we do.
This #GivingTuesday, with your help, the Institute for Policy Studies can end 2020 even stronger than we began it.
John , your gift to IPS helps us support movement allies, bring the boldest ideas to Capitol Hill, and raise a new generation of leaders. [[link removed]]
