Team,

Good government requires good people, and the key foreign policy and national security nominees President-elect Joe Biden recently announced exemplify the experience and qualities we need in our leaders.

I had the honor of working alongside Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Avril Haines, and Secretary John Kerry in the Situation Room, where we worked together to solve some of the toughest challenges in the world, and I've long admired Linda Thomas-Greenfield and Alejandro Mayorkas.

Joe Biden has put together a vastly experienced team that will make America proud and move us forward. I urge the Senate to swiftly confirm these nominees so we can get to work.

This is one of the reasons why we all worked so hard -- because decisions like this can shape the future of the country and the world. Your hard work over these past months and years helped to pave the way for these incredible public servants to be named to positions of consequence.

I look forward to working with President-elect Biden's team to promote progress throughout the world.
