John,

With COVID-19 business shutdowns putting more and more people out of work, the number of Washingtonians who cannot put food on their tables has more than doubled.

According to the Seattle Times,1 in every 5 of our neighbors might be struggling to feed themselves and their families.

So this Giving Tuesday, I hope you'll join me in supporting Northwest Harvest and Food Lifeline, two Washington-based hunger relief agencies working to provide healthy meals to those in need.

Could you make a donation of $5 or any amount that works for you right now? Your contribution will go a long way to provide fresh food to hungry Washington families.

Northwest Harvest works with a statewide network of 375 food banks, meal programs, and high-need schools to provide an average of two million meals a month. Since the start of the pandemic, Northwest Harvest has dramatically increased their distribution efforts -- finding safe ways to package and deliver food so Washington families have everything they need to stay healthy during this difficult time.

Similarly, Food Lifeline is a member of Feeding America dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. In a normal year, they provide over 130,000 meals a day, but now with the COVID-19 pandemic, they have ramped up their efforts to provide a record number of meals -- including 73,000 emergency food boxes each week -- within our state.

By building strong partnerships in communities across Washington, Northwest Harvest and Food Lifeline have gotten fresh food delivered where it's needed most. Now, with even more of our neighbors facing hunger due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they need our support more than ever.

John, during this season of giving, let's all do our part to make sure no Washington family goes hungry. Could you chip in $5 or any amount to Northwest Harvest and Food Lifeline today? Your donation helps provide nutritious food to those who need it most.
