Dear John, As an avid traveler, hiker, and river and kayak guide, I’ve seen the menace of plastic pollution firsthand and watched it grow year after year, turning once pristine mountains, waters and beaches into landfills. This Giving Tuesday, will you make a gift to help us to raise
awareness, and inspire action to create a world free of plastic pollution?
When I founded The Last Plastic Straw in 2011, it was a passion project to raise awareness about the absurdity of single-use plastic. Now, as a program of Plastic Pollution Coalition for the past four years, we are moving from awareness to action, advocating for policies all over the
world to reduce single-use plastic. As you can imagine, so much has changed this year with the global pandemic; our original in-person presentations, shared STRAWS film screenings, and discussions with students, communities, policy leaders, and corporate decision makers have shifted to online discussions. From 2nd graders to college and university students, to business and policy leaders, we are raising awareness about plastic pollution and inspiring action! Your support is vital to continue this critical work to stop plastic pollution. Can we count on you this #GivingTuesday to make a gift to support our work to educate, connect, and advocate for a healthier, more just, equitable world free of plastic pollution?
Every gift makes a difference, so I thank you in advance. We are a passionate team who are grateful for your support and for making this important work possible. In Solidarity, Jackie Nuñez Founder of The Last Plastic Straw & Advocacy Program Manager Plastic Pollution Coalition |
