Hey #TeamDianne Disruptors!

We’ve got a lot coming up in the next handful of weeks, as we rapidly approach our fundraising deadline on January 11. The campaign has been working hard to build momentum, recruit new people, get more press coverage, and, most importantly, raise those funds! Read on in this week’s Disruptor Dish to learn more about what we’ve been doing, what we’re getting ready to do, and how you can get involved! As you read, imagine this: It’s this exact time next year. We’re all rejoicing as we watch the transition begin to a new era: the era of Mayor Morales! What will you be most excited about then? How will you remember the journey there? #MadamMayor #OnlyDianne

==== What's up with Dianne? ====

“Gratitude is more than just a meal, a day or an act. It is a state of being; a way of living. No matter how you chose to spend the day, may you and yours - all of us - LIVE thanks, today and always.”

Over the last week, Dianne has been working to respond to the many crises that continue to develop both in NYC specifically, and in the greater political arena. She’s shared her thoughts on the recent decision to relocate homeless New Yorkers from the Lucerne Hotel and affordable housing in general, has discussed some implications of the current President’s desire to exclude undocumented immigrants from the Census reapportionment results, and has shared her thoughts on the recent holiday weekend, and the work still to do. You can read her responses, thoughts, and motivation toward a better future, on her Twitter page! ([link removed]) In addition, Dianne also recommended some women-owned small businesses based in Brooklyn for Small Business Saturday, showcasing some of the local women doing what they can to keep NYC thriving amidst the ongoing pandemic(s). Last, but certainly not least, take a look at this coverage that Dianne’s candidacy got, written entirely in Spanish! [link removed]

==== Update on the Numbers ====

Last week, we incorporated a few new fundraising strategies, and we’re happy to report that they’re working! Even though it was a holiday weekend, we still raised $4,860 across the campaign!

We cannot do this without all of you! We are so proud of the progress we are making, and we know we can do this, but we need your help! We only have until January 11 to raise the $250,000 to allow Dianne to run her campaign, and we all know how deserving she is of this! It is OUR responsibility to work for a better city we can ALL live in! We are working for the good of the COLLECTIVE!

Please donate if you are able, and encourage others to donate at this link: [link removed]

*Volunteer Challenge of the Week*: In the coming weeks, we’ll be releasing a new fundraising competition! We’re not saying too much yet, but the more people you have on your side, the better. Want to start some pre-season training? Get two friends to accompany you to a Virtual Outreach and Fundraising shift this week! Pro-tip: pick a shift that you can keep going to in future weeks. You’ll want to make sure you can stick to that time…

Want to be featured in our weekly newsletter? Snap a selfie or have a friend take a photo or video of you doing something to promote the campaign! This could be making a fundraising call, using REACH, creating and posting art that boosts visibility….get creative! Send your name, photo, and brief description of the photo to [email protected]!
