Dear John,

This difficult and strange year, we have all been asked to step up and make sacrifices to keep ourselves, our families, and our communities healthy. Birthdays, graduations, and holiday traditions were skipped. Many of us are emotionally, physically, and financially stretched thin.

As the year comes to an end, we want to take a moment of gratitude to celebrate all you have done to fill the role of caregivers for one another. The resiliency and acts of kindness we have witnessed have paved a path of hope for healing in the year ahead.

Many of us were caregivers before the pandemic hit — caring for our aging parents, children, loved ones with disabilities, and chosen family. But COVID heightened the desperate support that family caregivers, aging adults, and people with disabilities need. At Caring Across Generations, we have been providing community spaces, hosting Townhalls, producing live Caregiver Corners, and organizing a successful program to help caregivers make plans to vote. All of this to help you (and us!) meet the critical caregiving needs that have only gotten worse because of COVID.

With your support, we can continue to provide options for families, improve working conditions for the home and community-based care workers taking care of our loved ones, and redefine the culture of care. There is still so much work to be done to ensure we build back stronger.

Join us today in celebrating #GivingTuesday and the national tradition of generosity. [[link removed]]

We know there are many charities deserving of your support this year. As you consider your year-end giving, we hope you’ll consider the impact that a caregiver has had on your life and consider making a donation to Caring Across Generations in honor of them this #GivingTuesday. After all, if there is anything we have learned in 2020, it is that we are all in this together.

With Hope & Care,
Beth Shipp, Managing Director Caring Across Generations
