It's do or die time for nonprofit groups. Literally.
Nine out of every 10 nonprofits worldwide report being negatively impacted and severely stressed by COVID. A third of them don't expect to survive the pandemic.
This year, nonprofits aren't just thinking about how they can do the most good. We're all trying to figure out how to survive.
We don't want to be one of the groups that doesn't make it. On this #GivingTuesday, we reach out for your help so Our Wisconsin Revolution doesn't become one of the coronavirus casualties.
In 2020, we were able to afford to put together a team of four regional organizers that fanned out across the state to mobilize communities to push a progressive agenda and support candidates up and down the ballot. We organized regular Zoom meetings to highlight issues and showcase candidates. Our team sent more than 162,000 text messages to get out the vote in this year's elections. We recruited volunteers to make many thousands of phone calls to voters.
In the new year, we want to continue to be both a voice and a force for change. We want to influence state policy in Wisconsin. We've already started that effort with a letter-writing campaign urging the governor to include six big ideas tackling four dire threats to the health and welfare of our state in the budget proposal he will be presenting to the legislature early next year. With an eye on future elections in 2022 and beyond, we'll also be working to identify, recruit and equip new leaders to become game-changing candidates for state and local office.
To do all that, we first need to survive the pandemic. We need you to help us do that. Whether it's $25 or $50 or $100 or $250 or more, whatever you can afford is the right amount. On this #GivingTuesday, whatever you can afford would be a welcomed and highly valued gift.
Thanks for your concern and your consideration. From all of us at Our Wisconsin Revolution, we hope you are doing well and finding good ways to enjoy the season, and we wish you good health and the joy and comfort of family and friends.
Our Wisconsin Revolution depends on the financial support of regular folks. Take a minute right now to give what you can. You can help even more by making recurring monthly donations so we can count on a steady stream of income to sustain our work..
