Join us for a physically-distanced coalition rally at the State Capitol where we will ask our elected officials to support a moratorium on the construction of new factory farms and slaughterhouses in California! The evidence is clear, factory farms and slaughterhouses have devastating impacts on the planet, the animals, and the public. Instead of addressing this issue, our state has directly funded the expansion of big ag in California and is continuing to support this terrible industry. That is why on December 7th, we are coming together from a wide array of backgrounds and movements to support our vision of a California with #NoMoreFactoryFarms. Join us at our December Day of Action - Together Against Factory Farming next Monday, December 7th at 11AM. We are meeting at Crocker Park, 211 O St, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Tuesday, December 1st, 5:45 PM: Public Comment at Berkeley City Council: Divest from Animal Ag - It is clear that to prevent future pandemics, to help the climate crisis and to respect the lives of animals, governments and institutions need to lead the transition to a kinder, safer food system. One way to start the change today is to change food policy: use city funds to purchase plant-based protein instead of animal products. We will ask Berkeley elected officials to take a stand against animal exploitation and ecosystem destruction. See the event page for Zoom link instructions.

Saturday, December 5th, 11 AM: Meetup: Animal Liberation Jeopardy - Join us this Saturday for Animal Liberation Jeopardy! We will start with important news announcements from the local DxE community and the begin the fun! See the event page for Zoom link instructions.

Saturday, December 5th, 1 PM: Dog Park Day - To many, this activist community and the friendships we've made in DxE are very important to us! So let's hangout! Join us at the dog park; please bring your dog if they are friendly with other dogs! Please note we are following COVID-19 precautions and ask that everyone wear a face mask and since this is an outdoor space it will be easier for us to maintain social distance! We are meeting at Point Isabel: 2701 Isabel St, Richmond, CA 94804.

Saturday, December 5th, 3 PM: Bike Party to #CancelAnimalAg - Join us for a bike party around Berkeley to raise awareness about DxE’s campaign to place a moratorium on slaughterhouses and factory farms in California. The ride is meant to be upbeat and FUN, to the point where streetgoers will wish they were a part! Megaphones will help us to lead chants, and signs (you can bike with) are encouraged! While we will provide some materials, personalized signs are welcomed and encouraged! We are meeting at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.

Sunday, December 6th, 11:30AM: December Chapter Meeting: DxE SF Bay Area - Help us shape the direction of the local DxE community. This is the most important meeting we hold each month and it is a place for discussion, strategic planning, and decision making.
