This summer, after months of community pressure built on years of organizing, the Austin City Council voted to reallocate approximately 4% of its policing budget to other needed community health and safety measures and launch a city-wide Reimagining Public Safety process.
Deeper and more fundamental changes are needed, and we must be ready to defend our community’s hard-fought movement.
