Same-Sex Marriage Delay in Australia

Bishop John Parkes of Australia’s Diocese of Wangaratta has suspended the authorization of same-sex marriages, at the direction of the Australian primate, the Most Rev. Philip Freier. The Diocese of Wangaratta's synod previously approved such marriages by wide margins. The matter now goes to the Anglican Church of Australia’s Appellate Tribunal.
