Stacey Abrams transformed Georgia’s electorate this year and flipped the state blue for Joe Biden by fiercely standing against GOP voter suppression tactics and demanding that every vote be counted -- and she’s prepared to do it all again to help Democrats take back the Senate in January.

In 2018, when Abrams lost her race for governor after massive GOP voter suppression, she pledged to redouble her efforts to expand voting rights and add new voices to the table with Fair Fight, an organization dedicated to registering voters, especially those from communities of color, and fighting voter suppression.

And she delivered, helping to register over 800,000 new voters in Georgia to flip the state blue for the first time in three decades.

Abrams has said that Democrats can win the Senate runoffs, but it won’t be easy. As NBC News reports, “Georgia’s unusual runoff system was even designed by white segregationists in the state legislature looking to keep Black voters from uniting behind a single candidate,” and Republicans have always had the advantage in runoff races as Democratic turnout dies down.
