Indivisibles,

Have you ever watched the moderator during a presidential debate, your
interlacing hands clawing at your hair, your mouth wide open because they
still haven’t asked anyone a question about the issues you know to be most
critical?

Well, if that’s the case, then you’ll be glad to know that we’re
constantly thinking of new ways for Indivisibles to engage directly in
this presidential primary. And we know that sometimes, you just have to
ask the question yourself. That’s where we come in.

We’re really excited to launch three new(-ish) tactics for you to engage
in this democratic primary in visible, strategic ways. We say “-ish”
because Indivisibles have been doing most of these tactics for years!
We’re just adding a bit of flair to get you some more spotlight.

So, we’ve got a question for you before we continue. Have you heard of
this thing called bird-dogging?

In the political world, it refers to the practice of activists seeking out
candidates to get answers to important questions. It’s a vital part of
holding candidates accountable and making sure they can’t dodge their
constituents when we’re facing real issues. Earlier this year,
Indivisibles bird-dogged Elizabeth Warren, pressuring her to commit to
naming a public school teacher as Secretary of Education -- and she later
announced plans to do exactly that.

That’s one example, but we’ve got more. So let’s get into the new stuff:

Here are three easy tactics you can pick up right now:

 1. Check out our brand new [ [link removed] ]Birddogging Guide ('cause we love guides)
to get some helpful tips on asking candidates the questions that
matter to our movement whenever and wherever you see them --- even if
it’s just in a photo-line!

 2. You’ve used Soapboxx to call your reps out for campaign finance
reform, defunding hate, and so many other issues. Now, you can use it
to tell a presidential candidate what issue matters to you and what
their plans are to drive progress. [ [link removed] ]Don’t miss out -- record a
video, share it on social, and we’ll spread your question far and
wide!

 3. Looking for an event to tie all these tactics together? [ [link removed] ]Look no
further than our new Presidential Town Hall Map! Scroll down to "Find
Opportunities" to see a town hall near you. We’ll be updating it each
day with new opportunities to engage presidential candidates while
they’re on the road and stopping at an event near you.

We want everyone -- regardless of whether you live in an early primary
state or not -- to have a chance to engage with any candidate on [ [link removed] ]the
issues that Indivisibles have said over and over are most important to
you.

Remember: the most important thing Indivisibles can do is share their
stories, their questions (and the potential answers!), and make candidates
stand up and take notice. So, next time you’ve got a chance to take a
selfie with with the many presidential candidates, take a video selfie
instead and ask about ending the filibuster :).

In solidarity,

Indivisible Team
