Today, Giving Tuesday, is a very important day for CURE Epilepsy. As an Education Enrichment Fund (EEF) Scholar, future epileptologist, and person living with epilepsy, I’m proud to be a part of CURE Epilepsy’s Giving Tuesday efforts. I hope you and your family will join us for an exciting day of fundraising and engagement.
Here is how you can help us reach our $50,000 #GivingTuesday goal to help CURE Epilepsy fund critically needed epilepsy research:
- Make a tax-deductible gift on our website
- Create your own Facebook fundraiser and engage your community in your passion for finding a cure for epilepsy.
- Spread the word - share our social media posts on Instagram and Facebook throughout the day with your network.

And here is how your entire family can engage with us today on Facebook:
- At 11 a.m. CST: Join EEF Scholar Nolan Wu for a conversation with Dr. Chris Dulla of Tufts University as he talks about his groundbreaking infantile spasms research, funded by CURE Epilepsy.
- At 1 p.m. CST: Read a post from Lindsay Sledge, a recent EEF Scholar as she shares a mother’s unrelenting determination to advocate for her child with Epilepsy and why she is giving to CURE Epilepsy today.
- At 3 p.m. CST: Gather your entire family (children too!) and join author Mariah Mayhugh, a 2019 EEF Scholar, for a live virtual book reading of Mimi: A Story About Absence Seizures. This uplifting children’s story will appeal to the entire epilepsy community, and especially to families with children who have been diagnosed with epilepsy. Join us live on Facebook.
With gratitude,
Brook Hodgeman
