Last Friday, the provocative assassination of another Iranian official put the threat of war back on high alert. The news came on the heels of a revelation that Trump requested plans for bombing Iran and as multiple senior officials travel the region for meetings with Israel and Saudi Arabia.
We already came to the brink of war at the beginning of this year, and NIAC is pulling out all the stops to ensure we don't end up in a war as Trump prepares to leave office.
This year, we mobilized to help elect a new President and to secure a commitment that Joe Biden will return the U.S. to diplomacy with Iran. But with 50 days left until inauguration day, we cannot relent in our work to prevent Trump from launching a last-minute escalation.
