Class warfare goes on in the United States and has for decades. There has been an ongoing massive redistribution of wealth from the working class to the rich. The United States has the most unequal distribution of wealth and income of any major country on earth. There is an important truth that we must not forget: If millions of us stand together, educate and organize, there is nothing we cannot accomplish. Together, we can finally create an America that works for all of us, not just the few.

--Bernie Sanders

Comrades, at a recent AFL-CIO forum in Philadelphia, Bernie Sanders said, "What we are talking about, brothers and sisters, is creating a government of the working class in this country, by the working class in this country, and for the working class in this country."

That right there is why we endorse Bernie Sanders, and why we’re fighting tooth and nail to make sure he wins California. We’re hosting phone banks, watch parties, canvasses, and more from now until the primary election in March — and if Bernie wins the nomination, we plan to do it until November. See below for how you can get involved in our democratic socialist campaign to elect Bernie Sanders and transform society for the working class.

But elections alone aren’t going to win us socialism. We also need to grow the labor movement (check out our labor events below!), educate ourselves in socialist concepts and history (don’t miss Socialist Night School!), and create pressure in the streets (join DSA at the Climate Strike tomorrow!). In the coming weeks, we look forward to joining you in struggle.

EAST BAY DSA IN SEARCH OF OFFICE SPACE
Do you or someone you know have access to an office space that East Bay DSA could rent? Because we are a member-run organization with limited resources, we are looking for a low-cost, below market rate office space. Please contact [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=Office%20space) if you have any leads. Thank you!

Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot un-educate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore.
