"There are many ways to build a liberated future. Organizing for Reproductive Justice is mine. What is yours?

Hi Friend,

I'm Makayla “M.K.” Richards, a Black queer femme, birth worker, witch, and organizer. I work to establish support systems for the overall wellbeing of Black, non-binary, trans people, and their families, chosen and otherwise. As one of the two Georgia State Organizers for URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, I am building toward a gender-expansive, Black feminist, sex, and abortion positive future that's explicitly anti-carceral and anti-white supremacist.

I work with...

Young people on campus chapters and CANs (Community Action Networks) in Metro-Atlanta and North Georgia. I also collaborate with other reproductive justice partners on community support initiatives and projects.

Today is...

Giving Tuesday, and supporting young people stepping into their power is crucial to the joys we hope to cultivate and the queer freedoms we seek to secure. URGE is the training ground for tomorrow's reproductive justice leaders, and Friend, we need a leaderful movement.

Today I am asking you to directly support young people mobilizing throughout Georgia in the fight for our collective future.

Will you join me by making a gift of $10?

With gratitude,
M.K.
