As long as food and ag policy is written by Big Food and Big Ag, our food, our environment — and our health — will suffer.
Dear Supporter,
This #GivingTuesday, perhaps like no other in recent history, everyone is thinking about health.
For us at OCA, this is especially true as we work to connect the dots between human health, the environment and the need for a healthy democracy that protects its citizens and their common wealth: earth’s natural resources.
Between now and midnight PST Tuesday, your #GivingTuesday donation of up to $10,000 will be tripled by a generous donor. You can donate online, by phone or by mail, details here.
It was Thomas Edison who said:
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patients in care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
Much of our work is focused on educating consumers and engaging them in the battle to protect our food and agriculture system.
It’s also a battle to protect your health.
Never has that mission been more urgent than now, as COVID-19 has taught us how valuable a healthy immune system is — and how a polluted environment and a highly processed, pesticide-contaminated industrial diet compromise our health and leave us vulnerable.
Our job would be easier if we could focus exclusively on food and agriculture.
But unfortunately, the corporations that benefit from corrupting the food system, polluting our waterways and degrading our soil, also corrupt our political system.
As long as food and ag policy is written by Big Food and Big Ag, our food, our environment — and our health — will suffer.
As we look to a new cast of characters in Washington next year, we’re ramping up our work to hold them — and their corporate donors — accountable.
Today, more than ever, we need your help.

You make our work possible. Thank you.
In solidarity,
P.S. More than 80% of our budget comes from small donations made by individual donors. Every donation helps. Thank you!
