In 2020, we learned that our systems for public accountability are fragile. We are subjected to a constant barrage of misinformation. So much so that fact-checking on social media has become a prominent and necessary feature. The coordinated campaign to undermine the 2020 election results is just the latest example of government officials abusing power to distort public confidence in our democracy. American Oversight is fighting back against this abuse.
American Oversight focuses on facts and demands accountability based directly on the actions and records of our government officials. American Oversight sheds light on the most egregious threats to public life by uncovering primary evidence of corruption or misconduct, with more than 1,000,000 pages uncovered to date.
