Dear Media Activists,
Every day someone new makes a decision to become more outraged, engaged and dedicated to the fight for the truthful information that democracy needs.
Meanwhile, corporate media have already come out dissing the youth vote and belittling the left flank that brought in the new voters who made the difference in the November elections. Their collective mantra is that it’s the “far left” of the Democrats who are the problem, not business-friendly Democrats or intransigent Republicans—as in the Washington Post headline, “Centrist House Democrats Lash Out at Liberal Colleagues, Blame Far-Left Views for Costing the Party Seats.”
There is an absolute need to keep a critical eye on media efforts to sideline progressive voices demanding desperately needed change on climate, policing, healthcare, economics and the military.

Covid-19, with its threat to the public’s health and livelihood, continues to rage. The politics of the Senate and House, both now more evenly divided, will need critical scrutiny. The pushed-through confirmation of a new right-wing Supreme Court judge had the corporate media rushing to normalize her politics, while Big Media are already celebrating Biden’s corporate-friendly staff and cabinet choices.
