Regular, everyday people are suffering. We’re facing a global pandemic, a massive economic recession, a systemic crisis of police brutality, and skyrocketing wealth inequality. No matter what happens with the Senate races in Georgia, the Biden-Harris Transition needs to take bold action as soon as possible.

That’s why the incoming administration must be staffed with leaders who hold progressive ideals, who reject conservative talking points, and who believe in an economy that works for all. Deficit hawks are not those leaders.

Right now a prominent deficit hawk named Bruce Reed is being considered for high level positions in the Biden administration. Sign your name if you agree that Bruce Reed, and other deficit hawks like him, should not be appointed:

Previous Democratic administrations have been too afraid to take powerful action for economic justice because of the fear of Republican talking points. But every single time Republicans actually have power, they make it clear that balancing the budget is just a baseless attack against a progressive agenda.

We can’t let it happen again. That starts by making sure that critical departments in the Biden administration are staffed by folks who believe that student loans should be forgiven, that medical debt needs to go, and that working class families need real relief.
