The House passed COVID-19 relief legislation that would provide essential resources to frontline health care providers, distribute another round of stimulus payments to American families, and extend enhanced unemployment benefits for folks who lost their jobs.
That was six months ago and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell still hasn't taken it up in the Senate.
I can't think of a more crystal-clear example of why it's so important that Democrats take back the Senate, and now, it will come down to Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock's runoff elections in Georgia in January.
We won back the White House and defended the House Majority. Now, we need to flip the Senate. If you can, will you split a contribution between Jon and Raphael's campaigns and mine?
It's not just the pandemic that's at stake. Right now, the Supreme Court is considering a case that could overturn the Affordable Care Act and take away health care from 23 million Americans and protections for 135 million Americans with pre-existing conditions.
We also need to flip the Senate so we can take meaningful climate action to protect our planet for future generations like my grandson Charlie.
Jon and Raphael will fight to protect access to health care and make it more affordable. They believe climate change is real and will follow the science to come up with a plan to combat it. And they're committed to defending Medicare, Social Security, and voting rights.
But here's the thing: Polls show the Georgia runoffs are going to be close, and McConnell and the GOP are planning to spend more than $100 million to stop Jon and Raphael in their tracks.
Ballots are already in the mail on their way to Georgia voters. We don't have much time to act -- if you can spare a few dollars today, please consider splitting a contribution between Jon and Raphael's campaigns and mine.
