Dear Friend,
As a valued ally of the Secular Coalition for America (SCA), I am proud to announce SCA’s Agenda for the 117th Congress and the Biden Administration. You can read our full press release here.
In the agenda, you will find a comprehensive list of priorities that the Secular Coalition and our member organizations will be pursuing. Included are important legislative priorities like the Do No Harm Act, the Scientific Integrity Act, the CORE Act, and many others. We will also be working to remove harmful executive orders issued by the Trump Administration over the past four years that have been used to rewrite the true definition of religious freedom and discriminate. SCA and our partners will also be lobbying to ensure our courts are slotted with judges who adhere to constitutional jurisprudence, and leave their religious beliefs at the door when doing their job. These are just a few of the many tasks we have ahead of us, and we are counting on our most valued advocates like yourself to help us get it done.
Whether it is direct action (calls to your Representatives and Senators), or indirect action (your support for our professional team in Washington, DC), you are always on the front lines with us, and I can’t begin to thank you enough for your support.
Without members like you, we wouldn’t be able to advocate on behalf of our community and shared values, so please know that we at the Secular Coalition appreciate you and everything you do.
I must say that I am optimistic about our work in the coming year. With a new administration in the White House; one that does not use religion as a weapon and values our Constitution, I am hopeful for the first time in four years that we will finally begin to make significant progress on many of the issues we have been fighting for, and I am glad that you will be with us to make it happen!
In the meantime, please take a look at the agenda, and feel free to reach out to me directly should you want to discuss anything that jumps out at you, or just want to talk about our mission in general. I am always happy to hear from members like you.
To a new year, a new beginning, and ending religious discrimination!
