Let’s take a look at where Colorado stands on gun violence prevention. Here’s where we’re at:
  • Over ¾ of gun deaths in Colorado are suicides and more than ½ of all suicide deaths involve firearms.
  • White men represent 74% of gun suicide victims in America.
  • From 2013 - 2017, 2,774 Coloradans died by gun-related suicide. That’s 1 every 16 hours.
  • Black men ages 12-24 are nearly 13 times more likely than white men the same age to be murdered with a gun.
  • Over 55% of Colorado’s intimate partner homicides involve a gun.
  • Guns are the 2nd leading cause of death for Colorado children.
There is a human cost to Cory Gardner’s inaction on gun violence prevention. We must invest in candidates like Stephany Spaulding that are committed to fighting for gun violence prevention, including an assault weapons ban.
