This Cyber Monday, we are standing up to Pandemic Profiteers like Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos to ensure that New York prioritizes community health, not billionaire wealth. Workers, community advocates, and elected officials are rallying on Wednesday at 2 PM, December 2nd at Bezos' multi-million dollar Fifth Ave apartment to call for the state to pass the NY HERO Act to protect all workers from Covid-19, especially Amazon workers who have been on the frontlines since the start of the pandemic. Will you join us in urging the state to pass the NY HERO Act to protect communities from this virus?

Cyber Monday is just one day in a long fight to ensure accountability for Amazon and other large corporations profiteering during the pandemic. There is huge momentum in this state to pass progressive legislation like the NY HERO Act and it will take the support of a movement to tip the scales of power towards the hands of working people. With Giving Tuesday approaching, consider making a donation to support the fight against corporate greed.

While small businesses are threatened with more shutdowns, the worst employers act as superspreaders. Even Amazon's own data shows that Covid infected 19,000 of their workers, and at least ten have died. Workers suspect the numbers are far higher. During the first wave, workplace transmissions were a key driver of Covid-19 spread, particularly in Black and Brown communities where essential workers never stopped working. Preventing workplace spread is critical for preventing a second wave and keeping these communities safe.

Workers know what workers need. The NY HERO Act will empower workers to raise their voices regarding health and safety issues in the workplace without worrying about retaliation. We urge the legislature to pass the NY HERO Act without delay and make New York a national model in protecting workers, communities, and small businesses during this ongoing crisis. Join us to fight for a just and equitable New York that prioritizes workers over profit.
