This year, 2.3 million people were missing from their Thanksgiving table because they were in prison — nearly 1 in 100 Americans. 38% of them were Black, a rate of incarceration 5 times higher than among white people.
This grave injustice is why it’s crucial that we finish 2020 in a strong position, and come into 2021 ready for some of the biggest fights yet to transform local criminal justice systems with reform-minded prosecutors.
This month, our team is still $5,829 short of our monthly goal to stay on track. But, we still have time to crush this goal before the deadline.

We’ve made some great progress this year, and we’re not done yet. In the past month alone, we’ve seen historic and inspirational efforts to hold law enforcement accountable for violence and misconduct.
In San Francisco, District Attorney Chesa Boudin defied the status quo and charged the police officer responsible for fatally shooting Keita O’Neil. In Georgia, the people voted out former DA Jackie Johnson for failing to bring justice to the family of Ahmaud Arbery.
This goal is about more than money, John. Every dollar you donate helps support and elect Real Justice champions to fight back against the institutions and big-money special interest groups that will do everything in their power to maintain the destructive and divisive status-quo that has plagued our communities for too long.
If all of us come together to support these candidates, we’ll have the resources to continue supporting even more justice champions in the fight to eradicate mass incarceration and police brutality, and bring justice to our communities. But we’re counting on our grassroots supporters to keep this momentum going.
