Hi John,
I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend, even if it felt a little different than most years.
The series of special days closes out tomorrow with Giving Tuesday, a day for activists and supporters to empower causes and movements they believe in to continue striving for change. And here at Run for Something, we're hoping it's a day we can close our $60,000 fundraising gap for the year.
If you've got a little extra scratch left over from Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, or Cyber Monday -- please consider giving it to Run for Something, so we can close the gap and keep electing young progressives across the country.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Our work is as important as ever -- and as
difficult as ever.
While we won the White House, Republicans won a lot of down-ballot races this year. That was no accident -- it was the byproduct of a 40-year plan to win sustainable power by focusing on the local level. Once they have power, they can re-write the rules to allow them to hold onto it, even when their ideas and candidates are less popular (and way more dangerous.)
We're starting from behind. But if we supercharge our work, we can catch up. Run for Something is already looking ahead to 2021 and 2022. We know we need to build reliable political infrastructure
now to win sustainable, permanent power for our communities in
2021, 2022, and beyond.
So, this Giving Tuesday (or today!), consider funding programs and strategies that recruit, train, support, and elect diverse, young progressives to down-ballot races nationwide. Chip in $5, or more, towards our funding gap if you can!
Thank you!

P.S. Full transparency, as always: Giving Tuesday is usually seen as a holiday for making tax-deductible donations. Run for Something does partisan electoral work -- that means we can't be a 501c3 organization, and it means your donations to us aren't tax-deductible. That designation makes it harder for us to fundraise (especially because it means we can't use tools like Facebook or Instagram fundraisers). But I'm not too worried, because I know you're not giving to Run for Something because of the tax benefit for you -- you're giving because it'll make the world a better place. Thanks for being part of the team.
Run for Something is a grassroots-powered organization that recruits and empowers young progressives running for local office, with the goal of winning permanent power for decades to come. We rely on support from grassroots donors pitching in a little to create big change. Please chip in now to help us continue running and winning.
