Right now, soybeans are rotting in bins and farmers are trying to stave off bankruptcy. Families are struggling to pay for everything from shampoo to dishwashers. And 50,000 UAW workers are on strike against General Motors fighting for fair wages.

Whether you own a family farm in Iowa or you wait tables in Brooklyn, you can’t help but ask yourself: who is this economy really working for? Because when you check your pocketbook, the numbers don’t lie. Wages haven’t kept up with inflation for decades, and the cost of housing and other necessities are at an all-time high.

Trump boasts that he’s “winning big against China” but in reality, hard-working Americans are paying the price for Trump’s broken promises.

This trade war has already cost us 300,000 jobs so far and counting. Households are estimated to face up to $1,000 in additional costs each year from these tariffs.

But this is about more than economic projections and yield curves. This is about the decisions 300 million Americans make around their kitchen table. Decisions like whether they can pay next month’s rent, put food on the table, and simply get by.
