2020 at Western Values Project: A Look Back

ABC News: "Federal watchdog to investigate Trump official's role in distribution of coronavirus relief funds to tribes"

Washington Post: "Energy 202: Trump administration dinged by government watchdog for pandemic relief for oil companies"

The Intercept: "Trump's pick to manage public lands has a four-decade history of "overt racism" toward native people"

The Guardian: "Over 5,600 fossil fuel companies have taken at least $3bn in US Covid-19 aid"

Mother Jones: "Donald Trump, Kanye West, and a weird western bird are all somehow involved in a major conservation battle"

But our work to protect our public lands, environment, and wildlife is not done...

This election year, the Trump administration might have hoped no one would pay attention to their dangerous, deregulatory agenda -- but we weren’t about to stop holding them accountable. Here are some highlights of what we accomplished (thanks to supporters like you!):

- We investigated the role of Trump administration officials in the distribution of COVID-19 relief funds to tribes, revealing what ABC News called a “potentially serious conflict of interest” (Read the ABC News report from May here >>> [link removed])

- We exposed the Trump administration’s prioritization of pandemic relief for Big Oil companies over the people and small businesses who need it most (Read the Washington Post report from October here >>> [link removed])

- We exposed Donald Trump’s land manager William Perry Pendley as an extremist with a four-decade track record of “overt racism” toward Native people (Read the Intercept’s report from August here >>> [link removed])

- We exposed bad actors in the oil industry who were awarded PPP funding by the Trump administration's Small Business Administration (Read the Guardian report from July here >>> [link removed])

- And we uncovered a major conservation battle -- one that somehow involved Donald Trump, Kanye West, and “a weird, western bird” (Read the Mother Jones report from August here >>> [link removed])

But friend, our work doesn’t end here -- with a new administration about to sweep into Washington, 2021 will bring lots of opportunities to support and protect our public lands. Follow us on social media to stay up-to-date on the work to come!
