Friend --
Yesterday, President Trump announced he's given up on an attempt to add his discriminatory "citizenship question" to the 2020 Census. This is great news in our fight to secure a fair and accurate count. But, he also said that he'll instead try to find other ways to obtain the data he wants so that he can exclude non-citizens from redistricting.
This is why it's so important to remember
why this administration pushed aggressively for the question in the first place.
It's the same cynical idea those who already have power have pushed time and again in this country: Stripping political power from our most vulnerable communities. All On The Line is fighting every day to make sure that doesn't happen.
This fight won't end with yesterday's news -- instead, a new chapter has begun. One where we have to be vigilant that the administration and its allies won't try and gerrymander our districts by excluding
our allies. Folks like President Trump, Wilbur Ross, Bill Barr, Kris Kobach and Scott Walker have shown, time and again, that they'll try to manipulate maps, intimidate minority and immigrant communities, and make it harder for them to vote.
To fight back, we need to organize. All On The Line is building a grassroots team across the country -- with thousands of folks joining in the last few weeks. But we still need your help. I've set a one-day $10,000 goal to help get us the resources we need. Can you support our push for progress?
