This is time sensitive.? ? ? ? ? Friend ? this past week, we shared the news that a donor put up $100,000 to run environmental campaigns into 2021 ? if (and only if) 2,000 LCV members also pitch in before midnight on Giving Tuesday.

That's a stretch goal for us. It truly is. Right now, with less than 48 hours to the deadline, we're not on track to meet it ? we're only at 597 donations.

Right now, Trump is shredding what's left of our country's environmental policy. He's trying to sell off the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil companies. He's trying to ramp up offshore drilling. He's trying to fire scientific experts that have questioned his policies.

The truth is ? we can stop him. Block, delay, stall him just a bit, and all his plans fall apart ? period. But the bottom line is ? pulling that off takes resources just don't have right now. If we can hit this goal for Giving Tuesday, it's a game-changer.

Please, please, please ? pitch in. We really can't come up short on this one. Donate to LCV today, even $5 can make a difference ? [link removed]

Here's a little more info about what we're up against right now ? and why hitting this goal matters SO, so much: Because the Trump administration has issued an official "call for nominations" to oil companies ? asking them to select areas in the Arctic they would like to lease for drilling. If Trump fast-tracks these leases, it may be too late to stop the process. We still have a shot at blocking this, but it needs to happen now. You can help. Make a donation to LCV today ? [link removed] Because Trump just made Alaska's Tongass National Forest up for grabs for logging and other forms of development. This forest is considered the lungs of North America. The Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people depend on the forest as part of their home and their heritage ? and Trump stripped protections that had been in place for nearly two decades. We have to turn this around, but the only way that happens is if the environmental movement mobilizes in a major way. We need YOUR help ? [link removed] Because Trump has removed the scientist responsible for the National Climate Assessment, replacing him with a climate change denier. More firings are expected in the final weeks of Trump's presidency ? we need to be ready to fight each and every one of them ? and be ready to push Biden to restore scientific integrity to federal agencies. Please ? donate today. Even $5 can make a huge difference ? [link removed] Because the environmental movement needs to be ready on day 1 of the Biden administration. Biden won with a huge mandate to tackle climate change. But the only way we translate that into serious progress is by aggressive campaigning. We need to block Trump now, and set up Biden to move quickly on climate as soon as he's inaugurated. Friend ? I want you to know just how much your support matters. Please, donate today ? [link removed] Friend ? if we can get 2,000 donations before Giving Tuesday and unlock the $100,000 challenge grant, it's a gamechanger for each and every one of these campaigns. The ONLY way we can do that is with your help ? I really hope you'll pitch in today. Remember ? gifts of any amount count, even if they're just $5.

Please, donate today, before the Giving Tuesday deadline ? [link removed]

We wouldn't be able to do this work without your help, friend. Thank you for your generosity, and everything that you do for the environment.

Sincerely,

Gene Karpinski
