President Trump headed to Georgia on Saturday to campaign for GOP Senate run-off races. "President Trump Friday said he plans to travel to Georgia on Dec. 5 to campaign for the state's two Republican incumbent U.S. senators -- both of whom face runoff challenges Jan. 5. [...] Next Saturday will be Trump's first trip to the state to campaign for the candidates. Vice President Mike Pence stumped for Loeffler and Perdue before Thanksgiving. " (Fox News) • President Trump will campaign in Georgia this Saturday, December 5. It will be his first trip to the state ahead of the January run-off elections and his first major public appearance since the press conference shortly after the November 3rd election.
• President Trump will campaign for Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue, both of whom are in run-off races. Those races will determine which party holds the majority in the Senate next year; right now, it's split 50 Republicans to 48 Democrats.
• The recount in the presidential race in Georgia is also underway. It will be finished ahead of President Trump's visit -- by midnight on Wednesday, December 2.
Donald Trump Jr.'s advisers launching super PAC to help Republicans in Senate run-off races in Georgia. "The group, Save the U.S. Senate PAC, will this week start airing commercials featuring Trump Jr. that are aimed at mobilizing Trump backers across Georgia. A person familiar with the plans said it would be the first in a series of commercials spotlighting Donald Trump Jr. ahead of the Jan. 5 vote, which will decide control of the Senate." (POLITICO) • Donald Trump Jr.'s advisers are launching a new super PAC to help the campaigns of incumbent Republican senators ahead of the run-off elections in Georgia.
• Donald Trump Jr. will star in TV and radio ads run by the group. The ads will focus on encouraging Trump supporters to get out the vote ahead of the January 5th elections.
• This won't be the end of Donald Trump Jr's campaign involvement either. According to POLITICO: he is interested in "using his social media presence to advocate for favored candidates. He is expected to be heavily involved in the 2022 midterm elections."
Wisconsin finishes its recount with Biden still ahead but another legal challenge is expected. "In the case of the latest recount, triggered by the Trump campaign due to the margin between the president and President-Elect Joe Biden being within half a percentage point, the largest Georgia counties are having to get creative with the Thanksgiving holiday looming. On Tuesday, counties started preparing for the recount. Workers were trained and high-speed scanners were tested for accuracy and proper function." (Associated Press) • Wisconsin finished its recount yesterday, with Joe Biden still ahead in the final tally. The state's results are scheduled to be certified Tuesday.
• President Trump's campaign had requested -- and paid for -- a recount in two counties in the state. One county showed a 132-vote gain for Biden; the other, a 45-vote gain for President Trump.
• President Trump said his campaign would challenge the recount result, tweeting that a lawsuit "will be brought after the recount is over, on Monday or Tuesday."
