Dear John,

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s gun ban and buyback is under attack ([link removed]) again – this time from the union representing RCMP officers.

And we need your help to stop this flawed policy that will cost taxpayers millions but won’t make Canada safer.

The National Police Federation is calling for “evidence-based policymaking” on guns that focuses on illegal gun smuggling rather than focusing on law-abiding gun owners.

And not only is it an attack on Canadians who have done nothing wrong. It could also prove outrageously expensive – as much as $5 billion, according to an analysis ([link removed]) by the Fraser Institute.

The whole thing smacks of a cheap attempt to score political points at the expense of legal gun owners and taxpayers.

It’s why we’ve applied to intervene in two lawsuits ([link removed]) opposing the gun ban and buyback.

But while we’re working on our legal campaign, we can flood the Department of Public Safety with emails telling the politicians and bureaucrats to listen to the RCMP union and hit the brakes on this policy.

You can contact Public Safety by clicking this link: [link removed]

Let the federal government know what you think of this bill (in polite language!)

Let them know the National Police Federation is right and the government should focus on the real sources of crime rather than law-abiding gun-owners.

And let them know that spending billions of dollars to buy legal guns from their owners is an enormous waste of money.

When we act together, we can have a bigger impact.

Sincerely,
* Aaron, Todd, Shannon, Scott and the rest of the CTF team.
