The risk of exposure to COVID-19 is still very real— it's surging to record levels in Los Angeles, the US, and the world.
We need to be extra vigilant and mitigate the risks of infection, particularly for those who are older or who have pre-existing conditions. For the sake of our collective health, please remember to wear a mask when you leave your home, practice social distancing, and wash your hands frequently. This pandemic has shown us that the health of one is the health of all so we all need to take responsibility for our common well-being.
There are some easy ways to safely stay connected to the chapter, such as: signing-up on the front page of our website to receive our weekly newsletter, checking the calendar on the site for upcoming virtual events, and joining DSA-LA’s Slack.
In solidarity,

Join BLM-LA's Daily Action Protesting A Garcetti Cabinet Appointment
|
Mayor Eric Garcetti has racked up a dismal record of handling Los Angeles’ housing catastrophe, providing for the city’s growing unhoused population, and following through on transportation projects. Since entering office in 2013, he is responsible for exacerbating the double-figure increase in homelessness, condoning the destruction of affordable housing in low-income neighborhoods in favor of privately funded commercial projects, and muddling his commitment to transit projects so that they benefit tourist-driven mega-events, not long-term residents. Now, President-elect Biden is looking to appoint him to his cabinet as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or Transportation.
With the lead of Black Lives Matter LA, we are making our voices heard through every morning until Joe Biden confirms that he has accepted our demand and if all else, this action will continue building solidarity across Los Angeles and momentum towards liberation from our oppressors, including capitalists and liberal white supremacists. If you can show up to support, please join!

We’ve created this handy dandy checklist to help guide your journey with DSA-LA. Obviously not everyone has the same capacity, and you can do any of these things at any time, but these are some helpful pointers. DSA-LA is on Tiktok, and we need your help! Calling all current content creators and those who have always wanted to get behind their own phone camera, but needed a platform for their content to be reach its desired audience. We need savvy-minded members to help create, collect, and repost videos that reflect current view of DSA and social movements in LA general.
The best way to make this a SUCCESSFUL page is original content and even better COLLECTIVE original content. Please reach out to Molombo at [email protected] if interested!
