Dear John,
With everything going on in the world, I take time each day to reflect on what I have to be thankful for.
I’m thankful for the health of my loved ones. Thankful to have a home, a job I love, and everything I need. I’m thankful for my two teenage daughters who give me profound joy seeing them growing up to be such confident young women.
I’m also thankful for you, John. Because people like you are what make our service to women and girls around the globe possible.
Your compassion and dedication have helped fuel a global movement that’s been investing in women and girls for nearly 100 years! I’m so grateful to be a part of this work with you.
I know that you and I are relatively lucky. As you read this, women and girls across the globe aren’t as lucky. They face profound obstacles like poverty, teen pregnancy, abusive partners, or lack of educational opportunities.
Giving back so other women and girls can enjoy the same quality of life as I do is part of what inspires my work. It’s also what inspires me each year to make a donation on #GivingTuesday.
Though I already give plenty of time and energy to our cause, I know that #GivingTuesday is a special opportunity to give back in a way that solidifies my commitment to serving women and girls in need.
