Support Indigenous-led Solutions on #GivingTuesday!

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving which is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s a global movement that encourages philanthropy, celebrates generosity and brings people together! More than 1.6 million gifts from people in 98 countries have participated in this initiative, and you can too!

Join the thousands of charities, families, businesses, community centers, and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give to the causes that matter most to us.

This year, as in years past, Cultural Survival invites you to join us in celebrating #GivingTuesday with six ideas on how to make a difference in the lives of Indigenous Peoples across the globe.

1. Make a donation for #GivingTuesday!  Support Indigenous-led solutions.

Join us in amplifying Indigenous women's voices this holiday season by making a donation to Cultural Survival today.

Here are just a few of Cultural Survival's accomplishments in 2020:

► Our Keepers of the Earth Fund supported 31 communities in 16 countries with emergency grants. Our partners are building on existing initiatives and establishing new projects in pursuit of food sovereignty, water security, local communications strategies, mutual aid, and healthy communities.

► Our Community Media Grants Project provided grants to 21 radio stations that are creating radio programs about COVID-19 prevention. To support their essential work, we also published a Prevention Manual to ensure broadcasters are able to continue their operations safely. It is now available in 86 Indigenous languages!

► We are documenting COVID-19 cases and related human rights violations in Indigenous communities using Google maps technology, enabling Indigenous Peoples to share their own factual data and bring awareness to the violations occurring amid the global pandemic.

Join Cultural Survival and our partners as we work to fulfill the rights of Indigenous Peoples around the world, through Advocacy, Indigenous Rights Radio, Community Media, grant-making, promoting Indigenous women's and youth leadership, and our award-winning magazine — the Cultural Survival Quarterly.

2. Listen to and share Indigenous Voices.

Over the past year our Indigenous Rights Radio Program has released 417+ programs on COVID-19 prevention in 130+ Indigenous languages to 1,000+ stations in 69 countries.

3. Support Indigenous Artists by Shopping Indigenous at the Cultural Survival Bazaars!

Shop sustainably and make a difference!

 4. Looking for a meaningful holiday gift? Give the gift of the Cultural Survival Quarterly!

Make a minimum gift of $25 and receive the Cultural Survival Quarterly magazine four times in 2021! Or give the gift of the CSQ to a friend or family member!

5.  Start a #GivingTuesday Fundraiser for Cultural Survival on Facebook.

On #GivingTuesday December 1, 2020 Facebook will match a total of $7 million in donations first come, first serve starting at 8am ET until funds run out. Create your personal facebook fundraiser here so we can also receive those matched funds! Elevating our work on social media increases our visibility, which expands our reach and community. Your contribution makes a big impact, whether you donate $5 or $500, and every dollar helps.

6. Like Cultural Survival and spread the word on social media.

Please like and follow Cultural Survival's FacebookInstagram, and Twitter pages and invite 5 friends to also follow us on social media! Encourage your friends and family to get involved by making a donation, which in turn amplifies Indigenous voices and solutions around the globe. Every like, dollar, and increased visibility helps us to continue to provide essential support to Indigenous Peoples! Thank you!
