This #GivingTuesday we need your help to unlock $200K to fight back.

Big polluters know they have just a few weeks to get what they want from the departing Trump administration. These next few weeks could be incredibly destructive for our planet and for vulnerable communities.

Already the Trump administration has begun the leasing process for climate-wrecking oil and gas drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — a move that could open huge swaths of the Refuge to destruction before Biden takes office.

They're also pushing to force construction of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, gutting the legal protections that frontline communities rely on to fight back against polluting projects, and much more.

And so even as we map out plans to hold the Biden administration to its promises, our legal team needs your support right now to do their work.

We have a chance to unlock a critical $200,000 boost to these efforts — but we need your help. Will you be one of the 5,000 NRDC supporters to pitch in before Giving Tuesday ends? Just $5 or more helps.

Thanks,

Mitch Bernard

Dear NRDC Supporter,

A climate catastrophe is occurring right before our eyes.

Supercharged wildfires. Record-breaking heatwaves. Stronger hurricanes. Climate change is causing immense suffering in every corner of our country — and the worst is yet to come if we don't act immediately.

As the Biden administration begins to take shape, we must seize this critical moment to reverse the damage inflicted by the Trump administration and build a clean energy future that prioritizes the health and safety of ALL people.

You can help. An anonymous donor has offered to donate a whopping $200,000 to help power our hard work ahead of us. But there's a catch: 5,000 people like you must pitch in with a gift of any amount by midnight on Giving Tuesday. Will you donate now to help unlock $200,000 for bold climate action? Just $5 or more will get us closer to our goal.

Unlock $200,000 for Giving Tuesday

For the last four years, we were laser-focused on blocking the Trump administration's worst attacks. But over the next four we will refocus our energy on building a healthier, just future for everyone, especially for the Black, Indigenous, and communities of color who have been disproportionately affected by climate change.

Together, we must:

  • Push the Biden administration to turn the promise of its groundbreaking climate plan into reality, turbocharge our transition to a thriving clean energy economy, and bring the United States back into the Paris climate agreement;
  • Work to rebuild the EPA, Interior Department, and other key federal agencies that were decimated by four years of chaos and cuts — and call for President Biden to make his cabinet a climate cabinet, across the board;
  • Continue using the courts to hold corporate polluters and elected officials accountable to our essential public health and environmental laws;
  • Block any last-minute assaults from Trump before he leaves office — as he is already poised to ram through permits for drilling in the Arctic Refuge and a slew of anti-environmental rollbacks while he still can.

Please, make a gift before midnight on Tuesday and help unlock $200,000 to help build a brighter future in the weeks and months ahead. As little as $5 can help us get there.

Undoing Trump's damage will not be easy. Corporate polluters will redouble their efforts to run roughshod over our air, water, and climate. But together, we can achieve incredible things — and the momentum is on our side.

When you give by midnight on Tuesday, your donation will immediately strengthen the next phase of our work together and ensure that protecting people's health, our communities, the environment, and our children's future is a top priority for the Biden administration.

This is the chance we've been waiting for. We don't have a moment to waste. Will you join us?

Sincerely,
Gina
