.
We have some good news and bad news. First, the good: With the support of hundreds of grassroots donors just like you, our movement has helped raise thousands for Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossof in Georgia. That’s our one shot at wrestling control of the Senate away from Mitch McConnell, and we’re taking it seriously.
But there’s some bad news. Because we’ve dedicated a huge portion of our online attention to these two races, we’re running significantly behind on our own fundraising for 2021. Specifically, we’re $1,800 behind on an end-of-month goal with a little less than 36 hours to go.
When you’re running a grassroots program like this, you have to spend a lot of time striking a delicate balance. How do you mobilize folks to take progressive action for important issues, support fellow progressive candidates (especially in red-to-blue races), and raise sufficient resources to do your own on-the-ground mobilization?
We won’t lie – it’s hard. But it’s an integral part of building a movement capable of winning the change working people deserve. We can’t pass Medicare for All, end the war in Yemen, and send every single adult a $2,000 monthly check until the end of the pandemic without thinking boldly, and putting in the effort.
In solidarity,
Team Ro
