Dear Friend,
Despite immense challenges in the lead-up to November 3rd, LCV and our affiliated entities and state partners met the moment with our most ambitious electoral efforts ever.
Voters, especially voters of color and young voters, turned out in historic numbers across the country. Together, we voted for a better future that puts communities — especially Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, as well as low-wealth communities most impacted by intersectional environmental injustice — at the center of solutions.
In a time of crisis, we united to elect leaders who will listen, and our message was clear: It's time to tackle the climate crisis by creating a cleaner, healthier, more just and equitable future for all. Without your support, none of the work we did to help elect these leaders would have been possible — thank you.
Here are LCV's Top 5 Stories of November 2020:

President-elect Biden Appoints John Kerry to his National Security Team as Special Envoy for Climate
Months before Inauguration, the leaders that you helped elect have already demonstrated they’ve heard us: President-elect Biden has appointed former Secretary of State John Kerry to his national security team as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, signaling that the climate crisis will be a top priority for the Biden-Harris administration.
In response to this historic announcement, LCV President Gene Karpinski released a statement that says, in part, " President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris campaigned and won on climate and environmental justice, and today’s announcements make clear once again that their administration will prioritize international climate action on day one." THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW
The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is in danger. In the final weeks of Trump's presidency, his administration is reportedly rushing a last-minute lease sale for oil drilling in ANWR. This decision disregards the rights and way of life of the Gwich'in & Inupiat people, will permanently damage ANWR’s fragile ecosystem, and will worsen the climate crisis. LCV is making a major push to block Trump's final destructive actions in office.
