Starting tomorrow, millions of people around the world will join young leaders and walk out of their schools, workplaces, and homes to demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. We are living in a climate crisis--our house is on fire.

Our team will be joining the Global Climate Strike because we do not have time for inaction.

We need leaders who take the climate emergency seriously. Support our campaign for a safe, healthy, and prosperous future. ([link removed])

As a representative for NY-10 and as someone who understands the global and local effects of today's climate crisis, I will fight for a Green New Deal and a comprehensive push against the devastating effects of climate change.

The Climate Strike begins just three days before the United Nations’ emergency climate summit in New York City. Sixteen-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg is already at the summit, demanding immediate action on this global crisis.

This movement began when young activists across the world—like Greta—started skipping school to call on their leaders act aggressively on climate change. These young leaders are more courageous in their words and their actions than most politicians.

I’m proud that New York’s public schoolchildren are being empowered to leave school to attend the strike.
