Dear John,

Take action to ensure the voices impacted by U.S. foreign policy are heard.

Too often, voice of those impacted by U.S. foreign policy are left out of conversations in Washington. Take action to bring diversity to foreign policy discussions.

House Democrats will soon vote on leadership positions -- including the next House Foreign Affairs (HFAC) Committee Chair. This position has enormous power to shape foreign policy discussions, and it’is a prime opportunity to forge a new path as we move beyond the damage done by Donald Trump.

Representative Joaquin Castro has made a strong commitment to bringing diverse voices to discussions on foreign policy. As Chair, Rep. Castro will advance a new vision for our nation’s role in the world.

Tell Congress: Make Rep. Joaquin Castro the new Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

As HFAC Chair, Rep. Castro would address the root cause of militarism and centers on solutions for communities that have been harmed as a result of U.S. policy.

It is time for the House Foreign Affairs Committee to make climate a centerpiece of its agenda rather than an afterthought. Under Rep. Castro’s leadership, the committee would take serious action to ensure that the United States contributes its fair share to mitigating the climate crisis and ending support for overseas fossil fuels projects.

What's more, it is critical that the next HFAC Chair be committed to addressing policies that previously led to massive military budgets, cruel immigration policies, mass surveillance programs, and refugee crises. Latinx, Caribbean, African American, Asian, and Muslim communities in our nation and around the world need a leader who will be committed to turning the page on previous dark chapters in history.

We need your help, John. Press your Representative to make Rep. Castro HFAC Chair.

Tell your Representative: Support change in foreign policy. Back Rep. Castro for HFAC Chair.

Rep. Joaquin Castro will advance our nation’s role in the world with a bold new vision. It will be centered around human rights, human dignity, justice, accountability, diplomacy, and cooperation.

For the last four years, the U.S. has had a broken foreign policy with the Trump Administration at the helm. Change starts with Rep. Joaquin Castro.

Members of Congress will be voting soon. We need concerned activists like you to make your voice heard.

10,000 signatures still needed: Help the U.S forge a new path in foreign policy.

Standing with you,
Kate DeAngelis,
