The New York Post just broke this news:
If you’re not familiar with Caruso-Cabrera, here are some facts you should know:
• In her campaign against AOC, Caruso-Cabrera raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from Wall Street giants and Donald Trump’s network of donors.
• She wrote a book that recommended eliminating Social Security and Medicare (Trump economic advisor Larry Kudlow wrote the forward).
• She called public schools a “monopoly” that “harms the public,” opposes union rights for public workers, and suggested getting rid of the U.S. Department of Labor.
We don’t know for sure if Caruso-Cabrera will run against Brad -- but we DO know that if she does, she will raise massive funds from her Wall Street and Trump donor connections.
To take on NYC’s massive challenges, we need leaders like Brad who account for our values, and who put the long-term public good over short-term profit.
Next year, our city will pick an entirely new slate of leaders to take our city into the future. We know that if we have the resources to get our message out, we know Brad can bring bold, progressive policies to our city as NYC Comptroller.
Let’s be clear: We won’t see the systemic change our city needs if a former Republican like Caruso-Cabrera drowns us out with Wall Street money and ekes out a win in our close, crowded race.
