Today, we’re proud to introduce Wake – an initiative for young people seeking to get involved more intentionally in the environmental movement

There is no group more awake about the future of our planet than we are. As young people, we see our future hanging in the balance – and we know we need to be part of the solution.

Starting here in Milwaukee, Wake will build community with young people through educational events, activism, and engagement with the natural spaces we’re fighting for – Wake is about connection to one another and to our environment.

The future of our movement and Wisconsin’s natural resources depends on us – the now generation – to be engaged and take action.
Wake will:

• build a community of young environmental leaders in southeast Wisconsin
• take action on the most pressing environmental issues
• foster leadership skills
• hold monthly events every third Thursday starting on Nov. 21

Our monthly events will be engaging, fun, and interactive. We’ll have happy hours at local breweries that conserve water and take outdoor trips, like kayaking down the Milwaukee River. But we’ll also let you know how you can make the greatest impact, give you an insider’s view of policy-making and politics, and arm you with the skills to advocate for your future. Each event will provide opportunities for networking, education, and engagement.

We’re excited to introduce this new initiative in Milwaukee. If you’re in the Milwaukee area, between 18 and 40 years old, interested in the environment, and ready to be a leader in your community – Wake is for you.
