Will the option of medical aid-in-dying be available in Massachusetts?
For terminally ill people in Massachusetts and most other states, the option does not exist. That means that across the country, or just down the road over a state line, choices at the end of life depend on where you live.

In 2012, a Massachusetts referendum to permit medical aid-in-dying appeared on the statewide ballot, but support collapsed in the final weeks before the vote.

Since then, supporters have worked to get medical aid-in-dying approved by the state Legislature, and believe momentum is slowly gathering to their side.
