I wanted to send a note to keep you updated on our alums who were on the ballot early this month.
|
|
Quickly, here are three numbers I’m especially proud of:
- 60% of our candidates under 40 won
- 68% of our candidates of color on the ballot won
- 70% of our LGBTQ+ candidates won
|
|
Make no mistake — our Emerge training programs are changing the face of politics. The women we have helped elect will have an impact for generations to come, but I know we can recruit and train more women than ever before in 2021 and beyond.

What happened in Georgia is something we’ve predicted all along — when you invest in communities and in a level playing field, voters and organizers will show up.

It’s why we don’t write off any state, and why we must lay the foundation for progressive representation (and policies) in so many states that are too often overlooked by national organizations. It’s why we’re so proud of the women we’ve trained in states like Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
