In the 2020 election cycle, 88% of congressional races were won by the candidate who raised more money. There's no way around it; for the most part, money still wins campaigns.
Our primary campaign was the exception to that rule this past cycle — but we kept the spending gap to under 1.5-to-1. In fact, our campaign raised more than every other successful democratic primary challenge for a first time candidate in American history. We kept the money competitive and ensured our progressive message could not be drowned out.
John, it's simple: the progressive values and policies that our movement works so hard for needs a strong financial base in order to win, keep seats, and hold influence in Washington.
Unlike many other campaigns, ours is fully funded by the people. Jamaal doesn't accept a dime from corporate PACs or lobbyists, because he believes that power in Washington should go to the people — not for the wealthy.
